Celebrating excellence at the Executive MBA UZH

During the recent graduation celebration we had the privilege to confer awards for the “Best overall Student” and the “Most Innovative Thesis” in each EMBA cohort.

“Best overall Student” Awards

In the Executive MBA UZH with Focus on Digital Transformation the “Best overall Student” award went to Claudia Bliggenstorfer. Claudia is Head of Quality & Continuous Improvement at Accelleron and lives with her growing family in Zug. Claudia said “In the EMBA, I learned much more than just the fundamentals of general management and digital transformation strategies. The comprehensive program also made me grow as a person and as a leader.”

The award for the “Best overall Student” in the Executive MBA UZH with Focus on International Management went to Lorenz Bauer, Head Supply Chain & Production at Burckhardt Compression AG. Lorenz is a keen fitness enthusiast and avid traveler and lives in Elgg (ZH). Lorenz said “For me, attending the EMBA at the University of Zurich was absolutely the right decision. Through the well-located face-to-face classes, the outstanding lecturers and the practical case studies, I was able to learn and grow.

The working atmosphere is characterized by insightful discussions with experienced and committed fellow students, which motivates to ask boldly.”

“Most Innovative Thesis” Awards

The next award category “Most Innovative Thesis” is every year evaluated by the EMBA UZH Alumni Organization and was conferred during the graduation celebrations by Jeanine Bönsel, Member of the EMBA UZH Alumni Board.

This year the award in the Executive MBA UZH with Focus on International Management went to the team of 3 – Daniel Heinzer, Senior Business Developer / Internal Consultant at AXA Schweiz, Tina Wentz, Manager of the Center for Preclinical Development at Universitätsspital Zürich and Alexander Starck, Services Sales Manager at Tetra Pak for their thesis “Entwicklung einer Neuproduktidee mit Fokus auf Customer Insight, Customer Journey und Market Entry“.

The program has equipped us with a wealth of knowledge and skills that we can apply to make a positive impact in the organizations we work for. Our class was highly divers and professional and we were able to build strong interpersonal relationships and a broad network, which was absolutely amazing. A big thank you to Prof. Dr. Sven Henkel, who provided us professional guidance throughout this master thesis and a thank you to the board of the Alumni Organization who voted our Thesis as the most innovative Master Thesis this year!”
