Lights, camera, magic…and Adidas!

It was a busy EMBA week in Zurich again! Thanks to the Covid Certificate based safety concept, classes were taught without masks or need for distancing, which made for a relaxed and stimulating learning environment. Starting with Professor Sven Henkel, the participants of the Executive MBA of the University of Zurich were in for a deep dive into bleeding edge marketing topics. The final cases centered around a marketing analysis of different innovations for sports gear company Adidas.

Then the topics shifted towards leadership and together with Simon Chadwick and members of the Dramatic Resources cast from London, the EMBA participants explored what it means, to lead in different contexts. “Impact, Influence and Inspiration” is the 3 day module, in which experienced stage actors from the UK install a creative space to explore and experiment with different leadership challenges, borrowing techniques from the theatre stage and re-enacting challenging situations.

Sandra Mariño Zafra, participant in the EMBA class and Technical Project Lead at Roche Diagnostics said “Working with Simon and the team allowed me to experiment with different leadership and communication styles and experience the impact it creates.”

During the course of the module a professional photographer set the students in the right light and created some memorable pictures.

After an Apero sponsored by the EMBA UZH Alumni Organisation and hosted by Sandro Tschuor, EMBA UZH Class of 2019-21  and member of the EMBA Alumni Board the class is ready to go on the next adventure – a Learning Expedition to Berlin in November 2021 for the module “Design Thinking for Business Transformation” with Goodpatch Boris Jitsukata and Dr Tamara Carleton, lecturer from Stanford University.
