Study trip Singapore 3

A very important aspect of doing business in Asia and South East Asia is dealing with medium-sized and large family-owned companies. On our study trip to Singapore, the EMBA UZH participants benefited from the insights and experiences shared by Prof. Marleen Dieleman on “Business Culture in Asia: Family Matters”. To make the experience more real-life, our participants took part in the “Tycoon Trail”, an experiential learning journey in the city, where they discovered the stories of various family owned companies – fun and learning combined!

Understanding the context is key when doing business. In that spirit, visits to Little India, Kampong Glam, Chinatown, and the Civic District where an integral part of the program, and shed light on Singapore’s cultural diversity.

Everything must come to an end, with our study trip to Singapore ending on a high note – literally high – by visiting the impressive Pinnacle@Duxton Skybridge on the 50th floor, featuring the two longest sky gardens ever built on a skyscraper, and farewell drinks at 1-Arden on the 51st floor with herbs and spices coming directly from the adjacent garden. Both excellent examples of how Singapore, the Garden City, introduces sustainability in surprising locations.

We wish all our participants a safe onward trip or trip back home!
