Transformation in Action: EMBA UZH climbs to #51 in the Financial Times Ranking

Real transformation starts with the willingness to listen, learn and improve. The Executive MBA University of Zurich puts this principle into practice — and the results are showing. In the latest Financial Times Executive MBA Ranking, EMBA UZH has climbed to #51 worldwide, continuing its year-on-year progress and marking another important milestone in the program’s development.

This success is more than a ranking. It reflects a leadership team committed to continuously improving the learning experience. The EMBA team actively listens to feedback from participants and alumni, faculty and board members, corporate partners, experts and entrepreneurs. By reflecting on what works and where there is room to grow, and translating these insights into concrete changes, EMBA UZH keeps evolving. Each cohort benefits from the lessons learned from the previous one, strengthening the program’s relevance, impact and ability to prepare leaders for a world of constant transformation.

This commitment to change also means looking beyond the classroom. The Executive MBA maintains close connections with industry, bringing participants into direct contact with business leaders, companies and the challenges organizations face today. Innovative learning formats, including live cases incubator sessions, global study visits to top Universities like Yale, Stanford and Fudan University and the award winning Leadership Journey, create opportunities to work on real-world challenges, test ideas and turn knowledge into action. The ambition is not simply to teach leadership, but to create an environment in which leaders can experiment, challenge assumptions and develop new perspectives.

The program’s evolution has also been shaped by strategic decisions that broadened its horizons. Today in particular, participants benefit from a richer mix of professional backgrounds, international perspectives and experiences, strengthening the learning environment and enriching the Alumni network for everyone.

As a current member of the Executive Education Board since 2013 and as the former EMBA UZH President, Ingrid Deltenre offers a valuable perspective on the connection between leadership, transformation and continuous improvement.

“An excellent Executive MBA must never stand still. It needs to listen to its participants, stay closely connected to industry and continuously explore better ways of learning. The progress of EMBA UZH reflects this ambition: combining academic excellence with practical relevance and preparing leaders to shape transformation in their organisations.”

This is what connect – inspire – empower means in practice: connecting people and perspectives, inspiring new ways of thinking, and empowering leaders to make a difference.

Be part of this success story: Whether you are considering an EMBA or know someone ready to take their leadership to the next level, we invite you to become part of the EMBA UZH journey and shape what comes next.
